Sitespecific
Mobile Homes´ initial works were site-specific, and we named them ”mappings”.
The first Mapping was created out of an simple invitation to fill a gallery space with whatever we were doing at that time. This way of working with a concrete physical space provided us with a spontaneous creative process essential for the kind of performances we wanted to create.
Later the site-specific has become a laboratory and a tool for Mobile Homes and a place to experiment with material and ideas for future productions. The encounter with a landscape, a community, its local history and social praxis, creates a dynamic and responsive environment for artistic exploration.
The Mapping-series gave us the ability to be mobile, it had a lightness of format and it developed around the idea of network-building and communication. In the work with events like SONAR and Stedssans we developped these principles further. At the present moment we continue to explore the concept of site-specific within the process of (My)Life in the Systems 2008 – 11.
